Federal and Provincial Government Competitive Exams in Pakistan

Central Superior Services

The Central Superior Service (CSS) is a specially designed Pakistani government test to recruit Pakistani nationals to top government posts. There is a special organization to conduct this exam.The name of this organization is Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). CSS exams are conducted each year. Currently these exams start from the mid of February. There are 12 governmental departments, referred as occupational services groups, to which FPSC and Establishment Division recruit the successful candidates.

A CSS exam is a 1200 marks tricky exam and there are lots of subjects to opt from. 6 subjects (600 marks) are compulsory and 3 - 6 subjects (600 marks) are optional. 'English Essay' and 'Current Affairs' papers are the most toughest papers of CSS exams. Federal Public Service Commission recruits for the 12 departments of the Federal Government. Provincial Management Services

Provincial Governments in Pakistan also take their own competitive tests to hire on different posts. The tests are often called as Provincial Management Services (PMS) exams. Apart from provincial governments in Pakistan, other state units like, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan also recruit through their own tests.
